Nicola Atkinson is the Manager of our travel centre in Ipswich and she recently spent a fabulous four nights on the Las Vegas strips. Here’s a summary of everything she managed to squeeze into her trip and some recommendations for other travellers making the same journey…

The flights in economy with Virgin Atlantic were OK and each journey took approximately 11 hours.
Virgin offer complimentary drinks on all of their flights and there is onboard entertainment so you can watch plenty of films.
The Encore at the Wynn was fantastic and all rooms were luxury suites, with separate bedroom and sitting areas. I was on the 35th Floor so had fantastic views of the strip.
The hotel is huge and has a swimming pool and a beach club that is open in the summer. Like most hotels in Las Vegas, it has its own casino that was always open and was connected to the Wynn hotel; allowing you to go between the two.
The Wynn is where they have the La Reve - The Dream Show and there are also various (expensive) shops at the hotel.

The helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon has to be my favourite part of the trip. It was amazing and we even landed in the canyon for a champagne breakfast; a fantastic experience.
The trip was very well run & hosted and was a full, fun packed itinerary so I don’t feel that it could have been improved upon. The only thing I would say is that we didn’t need a full day at the shopping outlet.
I would definitely recommend Las Vegas, as it’s a fantastic place and has something for everyone. The hotels are amazing, and you can spend ages exploring them all.
For younger travellers, Las Vegas definitely had the night life, bars and nightclubs that you could ever imagine and, even if you don’t gamble, there is still plenty to do. The strip comes alive at night and there are various shows that you can go and see. It’s also worth pointing out that the legal age for drinking and gambling in America is 21 and not 18.
Also, it is very easy to get to the Grand Canyon from Vegas. If you want to include a flight to the Grand Canyon, you won’t need to organise a separate flight of the strip, as the trip to the Canyon includes this.
What a fantastic trip! If you are planning to travel to Vegas, go to the Dicks Last resort at the Excalibur, to experience this restaurant's own brand of sarcasm and fun.
